Kaworu’s famous line “僕は君に逢うために生まれてきたのかもしれない” raised my curiosity…

I’ve seen the line many times; more frequently with the kanji う (usually in official merchandise) but sometimes with う. Both mean the same thing, but I wanted to know what the difference was, so I asked a friend:

逢う is like somebody/thing that is especially special to you; and is derived from (or more a nuance of) 逢瀬 meaning a meeting of lovers.

So now you know how much more impact Kaworu’s line has! Of course, if we are wrong please feel free to correct us~ Let us cry lots more
